Periodical - summer pause?

Hi,

I’m writing this ’cause I’m bored to death momentarily. I’m aware that I hadn’t been very frequent about writing articles lately (not at all frequent actually). Yeah, I doubt that’s gonna change :)

However, I’m considering to expand the ’something useful’ category not only to computer but to electronics and everything else.

A brief explanation: I’ve been to a few IT conferences lately - OMG they are all obsessed with Web2.0 and mashups. Well, this expansion will be a (content) mashup of mine. For this announce I’ll ’steal’ (borrow, OK?? :)) a title from one Croatian blog (I honestly don’t remember which one) that says (with a tiny change):”Everything - from sex to locomotive” :) (thanks to a currently unnamed blog :)

Additionally, we’re oh so huge experts @work that we don’t see no *real* computer errors (usually TOAD associated :) anymore (well, it’s good for business but it’s bad for this page :). Hold your fingers crossed that TOAD goes whacky-doodle-doo ASAP :)

I would steal… ok, borrow… some error images from other sites but that wouldn’t be fair, now would it?

I just ‘killed’ about 10-15minutes so I’ll be going bye-bye now.

See ya.

Upside down !?

Hi!

So, here I am, doing my business (programming in TOAD, project leading, communicating with clients - all at once!) when suddenly display on monitors goes black and after few seconds filps vertical (rotates for 180 degrees). I knew that if I make a screenshot, no one would believe me - so I had to take this one with GSM camera.

(sorry for smudgeing, some things ought to stay private)

Later we’ve figured that this is no error. The monitor software allows display rotating by keyboard combination CTRL+ALT+cursor arrow. However, this was the funniest highlight of the day :)

TOAD on LSD :)

Exception - unknown software exeption.

Although TOAD is one among better (if not the best) tools for Oracle PL/SQL programming, some things just *have* to be annoying.

LSD TOAD

Yes, we - PL/SQL developers have to live with a large number of stupid errors generated by TOAD, but hey - sometimes it’s fun :)

P.S. we’re on vacation so we’ll have no opportunity to publish more TOAD-ish errors soon. Guess it’s time to fill the ’something useful’ category :)

Downloading 150%.. WTF!? :)

Hi,

OK, here’s one that almost missed me (us).

You maybe won’t notice at first but it’s preety freakin’ hilarious :D

150% downloaded..

As you can see, TOAD is downloading 158,36% of file being downloaded, although it is mathematically impossible :)

Btw. don’t use TOAD’s FTP client, it sux big time - it is so slow it should be called ‘frozen TOAD’ :)

Tnx to Zoki for the screenshot.

Catastrophic failure

Hi,

Here’s the first, and in my opinion - the funniest error happened to me recently.

The program is ‘TOAD’ and what did I do to produce this error? Well, nothing out of the ordinary.

The crew at the job still laughs about this one :D

TOAD - catastrophic failure
